Are you love drunk from yesterday and hungover from the whole holiday hoopla of Valentine’s Day?
The day of the Valentine can be quite a day of pressure and (dare I say....) mental afflictions. It is a day covered by corporate culture with the theme of expectation and anticipation. The subtext: am I worthy of love? am I lovable? do you love me? can I love you? It is a day infused with offering chocolates, red candies, flowers, lace cards, jewelry, high heels, high hopes: BE MINE, I’M YOURS and, ho-my-heavenly-red-lingerie, everything in between that the Hallmark world wants us to believe is LOVE!
I'm all in favor of giving and receiving amazing gifts (especially raw dark chocolate and nice lingerie), and showering my beloveds with offerings. And Valentine's Day can be a super sweet and delicious holiday to savor the goodness and to express gratitude BUT is this expectation and anticipation of this day the full story of sacred love? And why do we honor this LOVE on only one day of the year? The celebration of love is an everyday experience to rejoice and appreciate. And so, a declaration: Valentine's Day is Every Day!
Love is amazing and sweetness, playfulness and magic. Love is patient and kind. Love is boundless and endless. And Cupid makes his rightful aim over and over again in many different ways. Love is felt and nurtured and embraced with animals and plants and lovers and parents and friends and...and...and...it's really an amazingly overwhelming expression of divine grace with everything and everyone! Love is forever and always and it never ends.
So, from my boundless Cupid heart to yours, a ton of gifts for you to celebrate love and all things magic and sweet in your world.....today, yesterday and tomorrow.
